General terms and conditions for the "Blankspace" event


§ 1 - Conclusion of the contract
  1. The contract is concluded by the organiser's confirmation of registration. If the organiser does not respond to the participant's registration within 14 days, the participant is no longer bound by his/her registration.

§ 2 - Rules and regulations
  1. By registering, the participant accepts the rules system specified by the organiser as binding for the game. The participant undertakes to adhere to the organiser's rules and regulations during the event. Failure to do so may result in exclusion from the event. The organiser is entitled to decide on binding rule changes even after the contract has been concluded.
  2. The participant agrees to use the character specified by the organiser at the event. The characters are specially tailored to the setting. Any further use outside the event requires the organiser's consent.

§ 3 - Safety
  1. The minimum age for participants is 18 years.
  2. The participant assures that he/she is able to take part in the event, taking sufficient account of the expected physical, mental and emotional strain. If the organiser's information material does not indicate the expected strain, the organiser may provide further information in case of doubt. Any questions that remain unanswered must be addressed by the participant in advance and on his/her own responsibility.
  3. The organiser reserves the right to subject the participant's equipment to a safety check. Objectionable items may no longer be used in the game. Infringements may lead to exclusion.
  4. The participant is obliged to regularly check his equipment (in particular the dummy weapons and armour used by him) for safety before and during the event. If they do not or no longer comply with the safety regulations, they must take them out of use themselves.
  5. The participant undertakes to avoid any dangers to themselves, other participants and the environment that go beyond the normal risk of live role-playing. In particular, this includes entering cordoned-off areas, lighting open fires and fighting in dark or unclear areas (stairs, slopes, etc.).
  6. Anyone who has taken medication during the event that makes it illegal to drive a vehicle on public roads must refrain from fighting of any kind and from physically dangerous activities such as climbing. Alcohol consumption is not permitted. Violations will result in exclusion from the event without the organiser being obliged to refund the participation fee (not even pro rata).
  7. The possession and/or consumption of illegal substances will also lead to exclusion from the event, without the organiser being obliged to refund the participation fee (not even pro rata).
  8. Other criminal offences such as theft will also result in exclusion from the event, without the organiser being obliged to refund the participation fee (not even proportionately).
  9. The instructions of the organiser and its vicarious agents must be followed.
  10. Participants who violate the safety regulations or fail to follow the instructions of the organiser or its vicarious agents in a serious or repeated manner may be excluded from the event without the organiser being obliged to refund the participation fee (not even pro rata).

§ 4 - Liability
  1. With the exception of injury to life, limb or health, the organiser's liability is limited as follows: The organiser shall only be liable for damages caused by gross negligence or intent on the part of the organiser, its legal representative or its vicarious agents.
  2. Claims for damages arising from impossibility of performance, breach of duty and default are limited to compensation for foreseeable damage in the event of slight negligence.

§ 5 - Copyright in recordings
  1. All rights to sound, image, film and video recordings made by the organiser are reserved by the organiser.
  2. The organiser is entitled to record the entire event or parts thereof and to use these recordings for the purposes of self-promotion.
  3. All rights to the plot and the ensemble of terms, proper names and characters used by the organiser are reserved by the organiser.

  5. Any public performance, transmission or reproduction of recordings, even after editing, is only permitted with the written consent of the organiser.

§ 6 - Cancellation, non-acceptance of registration, exclusion from the event
  1. The number of participants is limited. Participant places are not transferable without the written consent of the organiser.
  2. The participant has a 14-day right of cancellation. The period begins with the confirmation of registration by the organiser in accordance with § 1 of the GTC. The declaration of withdrawal must be sent to the organiser in writing within this period.
  3. In the event of cancellation after the deadline, there is no entitlement to a refund of the participation fee. The organiser may refund the participation fee pro rata if the player's place can be filled again. In this case, a flat rate of 20% of the participation fee will be retained for cancellations more than 8 weeks before the event, and 50% for cancellations up to 4 weeks before the event. From four weeks before the event, the entire participation fee will be retained.
  4. The organiser reserves the right to exclude participants from the event prior to the event without giving reasons and against reimbursement of the participation fee already paid.
  5. If the event is cancelled, any fees already paid will be refunded; there are no further claims.

§ 7 - Services, terms of payment
  1. The participation fee entitles the participant to take part in the role play, the preparatory workshop and the reflection. The participation fee also includes the following services: Accommodation & full board.
  2. When purchasing a participant place via the ticket shop, the participant undertakes to pay the participation fee directly via one of the options shown in the shop.
  3. Should a return debit note be made when collecting the participant fee by direct debit through no fault of the organiser, the participant shall bear the bank charges incurred.
  4. In the case of applications in the name and for the account of a third party, the applicant shall be jointly and severally liable for the latter's obligations arising from this commitment.

§ 8 - Notice in accordance with the Federal Data Protection Act
  1. The participant agrees that his/her data contained in the contract offer will be kept in an automated participant file from the start of registration. Disclosure to third parties requires the written consent of the participant.
  2. The stored personal data of the participant may include name, address, date of birth, telephone number, e-mail and other personal data. The master data and other required data (e.g. event fee, etc.) are stored temporarily for the use of the respective event. They will be deleted no later than one month after the respective event.
  3. Voluntarily provided data on the participant's state of health will be treated confidentially and will not be passed on.

§ 9 - Miscellaneous
  1. There is no entitlement to gender-segregated accommodation.
  2. All ancillary agreements and amendments must be made in writing. They must be made with the organiser.

§ 10 - Severability clause
  1. If one or more provisions of these General Terms and Conditions are or become invalid, this shall not affect the validity of the contract and the remaining provisions. In the event of the invalidity of individual provisions, the provision that comes closest to the originally intended economic purpose and is legally permissible shall apply.
